Jessica is a London-based artist who works mainly in photography and painting. Initially, she qualified as a doctor before returning to her first love - art. She now works part time as a doctor in the NHS in Psychiatry whilst also studying Fine Art at London Metropolitan University.
Jessica's artwork is held in private collections in Liverpool, London, Los Angeles and Paris.
At present, Jessica's artistic practice explores the translucence of light through media such as water, glass and clouds. She is fascinated by the subtle shifting of colours as light passes through multiple layers or veils.
Through her work in Psychiatry, she is keenly aware that, as light is changed by its movement through different layers, so an individual's persona is modified as it passes through the multiple layers, emotions and defences that make us human.
In many of her works, both of people and landscapes, Jessica tries to look behind the brash surface to the more subtle colours and emotions that emerge in quieter moments. |
